Dr. Sylvia Maxfield (she/her/hers) is the dynamic dean who has ushered in significant growth at the Providence College School of Business (PCSB). She heads the 70-person team of faculty and staff dedicated to providing a world-class business education deeply and uniquely rooted in the liberal arts. Under her leadership, the PCSB has risen dramatically in national rankings to become a top-50 business school; sustained the prestigious AACSB accreditation; built the award-winning Ryan Center for Business Studies; increased endowment resources; and grown the enrollment of graduate and undergraduate business students, including increasing the number of multicultural students in business majors. She encourages continuous improvement within the PCSB and directed the creation of the PCBiz2025 strategic plan, which charts the course for the PCSB’s future.
