The ring of a brass bell resonating on campus on Saturday, April 29, 2017 marked the official opening of the Arthur F. and Patricia Ryan Center for Business Studies. Prominent alumnus Arthur F. Ryan ’63 & ’90 Hon. and his wife, Patricia, donated $5 million to create this new home for the Providence College School of Business (PCSB). With their gift, Dore Hall, a former residence hall, was renovated as the center of the new structure, named the Arthur F. and Patricia Ryan Center for Business Studies. The new award-winning home for the PCSB provides state-of-the-art facilities conducive to collaboration, student-faculty interaction, active-learning, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Highlights of the new facility:

  • 6 classrooms
  • 1 lecture hall/auditorium
  • 4 conference rooms
  • 3 expansive study/event spaces
  • 1 video conference room
  • 3 finance, accounting & data analytics computer lab classrooms
  • 12 Bloomberg terminals
  • 5 group collaboration rooms
  • 1 cafĂ©
  • 1 career education satellite office

With “Educating for a Future Based on We” as the motto for the PCSB, the Ryan Center for Business Studies creates a distinct town-hall feel, specifically in the atrium, providing students of all disciplines a space to innovate, create, and learn together.
