Providence College taught me how to be a thought leader. I was constantly challenged through the diverse curriculum and with the help of my professors to deepen my conclusions, whether the topic was a Jane Eyre novel or a Financial case study, I was encouraged to extrapolate unique innovative perspectives and solutions. Through my constant encounters with creativity and challenge throughout my Providence College experience I had become prepared for my career in Finance.

During the summer of 2016, I interned in the assurance practice at PwC. The internship was a great learning opportunity, as I applied the knowledge and skills from my accounting classes in a real-world environment. During the internship, I discovered the importance that auditing has in the corporate world, which heightened my eagerness to accept a full-time offer. I also realized how the Friar Family atmosphere continues post-graduation, as multiple PC alumni, who were employed in that office at the time, reached out to me throughout those eight weeks.

Providence College, specifically my accounting professors, helped me succeed in my internship by training me in the technical skills needed in my field as well as other skills that have helped me to become a more well-rounded person. I really enjoyed my experience interning at Ernst & Young, so I thank Providence College for opening that door for me.

The small size of PC’s accountancy department allowed me to get to know my professors and advisor, who discussed career paths with me as early as freshman year. PC also gave me access to the Big Four firms, where I was able to stay in contact with professionals throughout my college journey. Lastly, the wide range of classes made me more well rounded and allowed me to thrive throughout the entire internship.

The PC MBA offers a tremendous value to all interested students and working professionals. I was able to broaden my professional network among fellow MBA students, faculty, and staff. The flexibility of course offerings, and the wide variety of subject areas, have helped me a great deal to pursue my MBA while also working full-time.
Andrew Lambert, MBA '16

I think I’ve learned most in my MBA classes where there was a healthy mixture part-time working professionals and also students. I figured the class where you were interfacing with someone across the world could not only serve you well in the course of your MBA. These are the kind of experiences that you can talk to a potential recruiter or a managing partner that you happen to bump into. These are the interesting things that they will actually be engaged when talking to you, and they’ll remember you.
R.J. Depietri, MBA '16

I decided to take a week off from work and participate in the study abroad component of the MBA program because I felt that it would give me a better global perspective on companies that I have the potential to work for in the future. It also opened up my eyes to some other cultures that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of when I was working every day.
Alexandra Geer, MBA '16

I had a few places to choose from and PC really had everything I wanted to do. It was affordable, that was one of the biggest things that I found and also since I’ve been here there has been a lot of support as far as flexibility with classes and time as a working professional. The schedule really works for me and many people that might be working a full time job.

PC’s MBA program helped me to develop my strengths and work on my weakness as to prepare me for a professional work environment. In the classroom professors treat you as working professionals and try to guide you in the right direction that works best for each individual. PC has so much to offer when preparing for the next step in your life. I was able to set a path with goals I would like to achieve. Without the help of the PC MBA program I would not be on the path to achieving those goals.

PC's MBA program helped me develop a complete understanding of how a business operates successfully, beyond my core expertise of marketing. My MBA at Providence College gave me the opportunity to challenge myself in a great collaborative and diverse environment. It helped me understand the finer points of global business, its trends and how to lead an organization that gets challenged on a daily basis. PC’s MBA is fully oriented towards business realities, with a lot of hands on activities, discussions and small classes. This program is a great investment, with a very clear return.
