Math Requirements

Effective with the class of 2021 and all newly declared business majors, the math requirement for business majors will be met by the following:

 

  1. Students will be required to complete the ALEKS mathematics assessment* at an 80 percent proficiency by the first day of classes: and
  2. Successful completion of the MTH 107 course; OR MTH 108, MTH 109, MTH 131, or MTH 132

Minimum requirement for

Marketing majors

 

MTH 107 Mathematics for Business Analysis I

 

Marketing majors will take an additional math proficiency exam in MKT 205 within first 2 weeks of classes

 

Recommended for Accountancy, Finance and Management majors

 

AND

 

Finance & Accountancy Minors

 

AND

 

4 + 1 MBA Track

One of the following:

 

MTH 108 Mathematics for Business Analysis II

MTH 109 Calculus I

MTH 131 Calculus and Analytical Geometry I

MTH 132 Calculus and Analytical Geometry II

 

 

 

*All PCSB students are required to demonstrate proficiency in finite mathematics. As a result, all new and incoming business students must successfully complete MTH 107 (or higher) and ALEKS.  ALEKS is an on-line math learning and assessment tool which is used to measure math proficiency and help bring students up to the expected levels on finite math topics.  PCSB students will receive emails in July providing access to the ALEKS on-line exam.
