PCBiz Basics
PCBiz Basics are workshops intended to introduce you to industries and industry sectors that will support your career exploration and development.

These series will feature weekly workshops that focus on the fundamentals of the industry and the opportunities available to students. You will learn how to align your PCSB experience with career pathways in these fields. Students who complete the series will also earn a Friar Involvement Tracker badge that you can showcase to employers and recruiters through your LinkedIn page.
The workshops will range from 50-75 minutes and will meet weekly for 2 to 3 weeks depending on the subject area.
Spring 2024 Offerings
Consulting
If you’re interested in pursuing a career in consulting, then this one-part workshop is for you. Gaining entry into this competitive field can be a challenge, but by attending you’ll get an inside look at the skills and strategies you should be taking to gain entry.

Sports Management
This series will introduce you to the exciting career path of sports management! You’ll learn the nuances of what it takes to be successful in either professional or college athletics. Learn from industry leaders who have the road map on how you can enter this field in a variety of different jobs.

Seats will be limited for the off-campus site visit. Registration will be required and preference will be given to students who attend the first two sessions.

Throughout this series, you explore software development, data science, and the boundless possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Digital Marketing: Fall 2023
The Digital Media Marketing series will explore the field of advertising that utilizes digital media. You’ll learn about successful campaigns, see emerging practices, and explore different roles in the field. Throughout this series, you’ll meet industry professionals from creative to account management to media placement and beyond.
Human Resources: Fall 2023
The Human Resources series will teach you everything you need to begin your career in human resources. Human resources is more than just hiring and paperwork. In this series, you’ll explore talent acquisition, technology, workplace planning, performance management, employment relations, and more that make up the human resources field. Each week will introduce industry leaders who will speak about their roles and their career journeys.
Real Estate: Spring 2023
The Real Estate series will teach students the variety of roles featured in the real estate industry, real estate development processes, the impact of real estate on financial markets, and the selling side of the real estate industry. This series will be a deep dive into the opportunities real estate has to offer & how students can start pursuing the field as undergraduates at Providence College.
Investments & Wealth Management: Spring 2023
The Investments & Wealth Management workshops will examine the landscape of opportunities in the financial services landscape and distill the sub-set of roles within the investment management and wealth management settings. This series is ideal for students interested in the financial industry who are seeking direction in the financial services industry.
Sports Management: Spring 2023
The Sports Management series will focus on the business of sports & the behind the scenes roles that get fans into the stands, operate the businesses’ finances, and build the brands that fans love. The business of sports is a massive one, where individuals can find roles working for colleges, professional franchises, and sports-adjacent companies like Nike. Over the course of this series, we’ll identify the different opportunities the sports industry has to offer and some pathways that students can start during their time at Providence College.
