School of Business Kicks Off 2024-25 School Year
As the 2024-25 school year begins, the School of Business welcomes students, both returning and new! This year brings some exciting changes and additions.
New Leadership
Effective September 1, 2024, Dr. Christine Earley began her tenure as interim dean. She takes over for Dr. Sylvia Maxfield who has been named interim provost of Providence College. Dr. Earley returns to the School of Business having most recently served as Providence College’s associate provost for faculty development.
New Students in the School of Business
The School of Business welcomes nearly 600 new students this fall. This includes 462 incoming first-year undergraduate students; 48 in accountancy, 218 in finance, 90 in management and 106 in marketing. They are joined by 135 new graduate students; 25 in M.S. in Business Analytics program, 107 in the MBA program, and 3 graduate certificate students. This represents one of the largest and most academically qualified classes to date!
New Academic Program
This summer, the School of Business announced the launch of a new graduate program, an online Master of Science in Sports Administration. This program represents the College’s first fully online program. The first class will start in the fall of 2025 and will enroll 25 students.
The program’s coursework will combine critical business principles with athletic-specific competencies, all rooted in the ethics-focused and mission-driven culture that is a hallmark of the Providence College experience. Students will obtain hands-on experience through student engagement activities in a variety of areas of business within the sports industry, as well as apply their knowledge and skills via a real-world consulting project.
New Faculty Members
Building upon the already impressive faculty, the School of Business welcomes five new full-time faculty members:
