Providence College students take part in international ethics case competition

Jillian Mike ’25 and Adam Sienkiewicz ’25 recently traveled to the University of Arizona to participate in the Collegiate Ethics Case Competition at the Eller School of Management. Mike is a psychology and English major at PC, while Sienkiewicz is an accounting major and a political science minor.
They first began their work together when they took first place at the Providence College School of Business Ethics Case Competition last fall, where they discussed the ethics of sports gambling. As a result, Mike and Sienkiewicz were selected to represent PC Business in its Michael Smith Regional Business Ethics Case Competition last spring, competing against teams from other colleges. During that event, they debated the ethical implications of AI in the workplace.
As a result of these experiences, they were invited to be Providence College’s team at Eller’s Ethics Case Competition this fall. For that competition, Mike and Sienkiewicz argued the multitude of impacts of lab-grown meat in Arizona.
They had the opportunity to “engage in discussions, network with other university students, and confer with judges from local industries,” Sienkiewicz said. These ethics competitions have provided both students with well-rounded knowledge in the business ethics world.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to represent PC in this competition, as I believe it demonstrates Providence College School of Business’s commitment to our liberal arts core curriculum and the importance of the humanities in business,” Mike said.
