PCSB Students Receive Honorable Mention in National AMA Collegiate Case Competition
Last semester over 100 teams nationwide entered into the American Marketing Association Collegiate Case Competition. A team of the PCSB’s marketing students consisting of Nicole Murphy, Alexandra Portocarrero, Sophia Giardina, William Brodeur, and Jake Denton, won an honorable mention and tied for 15th place. Out of over 100 submissions, their honorable mention is certainly very impressive.
The AMA Case Competition happens annually, with a different sponsoring company each year. This year’s competition was sponsored by Mary Kay. According to the AMA website, the case competition “provides a detailed marketing problem for which it is looking to gain the perspective of AMA’s best students, who will compete by developing a marketing strategy in a nationally recognized competition.”
The AMA says that the purpose of the competition is twofold:
“1) To provide AMA undergraduate members the opportunity to work together on a problem that typifies a real, working marketing situation.
2) To provide the Case Competition sponsor direct contact with the very best marketing students with possible real world solutions to their marketing problem.”
Congratulations to Nicole, Alexandra, Sophia, William, and Jake on their achievement!
