Internship Spotlight: Caroline Breslin ’24

By Ashley Meeker ’24

Caroline Breslin ’24, a finance and management double major from Newton, MA has had the pleasure of interning at Fidelity Investments for two years and has received a return offer.

“During my sophomore year I applied to a ton of jobs and had a couple of interviews with different financial companies,” said Breslin.

Having no prior experience, Breslin was open to any position and after her interview process, she landed the position of client experience operations intern at Fidelity.

“My day-to-day operations included meeting with my manager, dropping in on different meetings, and completing my own individual work. One of my main tasks during my first year was working internally on smaller projects and more closely with my manager. In my second year I was able to work on bigger projects and email clients due to the trust I had built with my manager,” said Breslin.

In Breslin’s internship role, she worked with software such as Salesforce, PPM Pro, DocuSign, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel. She emphasized how using these programs sharpened her skills and interest in operations, managerial opportunities, and financial analyst roles.

Breslin said she thoroughly enjoyed the work culture at Fidelity. She praised her work experience and also the satisfaction of creating long-lasting relationships with her manager and other interns who will be her coworkers again after graduation.

In addition to connecting with her manager and other interns, Breslin was able to meet Providence College alumni who currently work at Fidelity. She was part of a Young Alumni Network, which used AI to match current Providence College students to alumni. Breslin was matched with Stephanie Gilet ’21, who served as a resource and mentor to Breslin. Breslin also had the opportunity to reconnect with Kaan Cebeci ’22. Breslin and Cebeci had served as orientation leaders together in the past. Breslin stated it was nice to catch up and share both of their experiences thus far at Fidelity.

Having had no experience at a large financial company before, Breslin thinks this internship has solidified her choice in the path she has chosen. Not only did she gain insights into the operations and logistics of Fidelity, but she has also had the opportunity to create meaningful relationships that have helped her secure her upcoming role as a client experience operations associate.
