About the Dean

Christine Earley

Christine Earley, Ph.D., is the interim dean of the Providence College School of Business and a professor of accountancy. She joined Providence College in September 2008 and has held numerous leadership roles both at Providence College and within the School of Business. Before being named interim dean in 2024, she served as Providence College’s associate provost for faculty development, accountancy department chair, the Michael A. Ruane Endowed Professor of Accountancy, and the School of Business’ associate dean.

Dr. Earley began her career as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut and has held roles at Bentley University, the University of Scranton, and KPMG. She took a professional leave from Providence College to serve as a faculty fellow in the Global Services Centre of KMPG, overseeing academic research programs for the firm and serving on the global audit methodology implementation team.

As Providence College’s associate provost for faculty development, Dr. Earley was responsible for all aspects of faculty training and growth. She oversaw faculty onboarding, tenure and promotion preparation, and department chair development. She has become an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) within higher education, leading Providence College’s AI initiatives.

Dr. Earley is an accomplished researcher with a focus on cognitive psychology, auditing, and professional ethics, and she has been published over 30 times in top journals. She has received numerous professional accolades from the American Accounting Association, Providence College, the University of Scranton, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Beta Alpha Psi.
