PC Business Kicks off the 2025-26 School Year
The commencement of the 2025–26 academic year marks notable additions in the Providence College School of Business. Welcoming a new cohort of students, the Ryan Center for Business Studies is also pleased to introduce several distinguished additions to its faculty and leadership.
Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics at PC Business
Marianne Doran-Collins ’85 has been appointed as the inaugural director of data analytics and artificial intelligence. Doran-Collins joins Providence College after holding leadership positions at Johnson & Wales University, Sensata Technologies, and most recently Forrester. Renowned for her expertise in this area, she will oversee the required Data Analytics in Business course for all business majors, among many other initiatives. As an alumnus of Providence College, she looks forward to collaborating with students to develop their skills in data analytics and AI, competencies highly sought by employers.
A PC Legend Joins the School of Business
Joe Gemma, whose name has been well known across campus over the past 47 years, has joined the School of Business this summer as Senior Associate Dean. In his new role, Mr. Gemma will oversee the administration of undergraduate business programs. Additionally, he will serve on the management faculty, continuing his longstanding commitment to Providence College, following recent service as Associate Dean in the Student Success Center.
New Students to the Ryan Center
The School of Business welcomed over 600 new students this fall. This includes 479 incoming first-year undergraduate students; 41 in accountancy, 222 in finance, 105 in management and 111 in marketing. They are joined by 34 transfer students.
The graduate programs at PC Business not only welcomed students into the MBA and MS in Business Analytics, but they welcomed the inaugural cohort of students in the MS in Sports Administration program. New graduate students at PC Business total 129 students; 24 in M.S. in Business Analytics program, 88 in the MBA program, 14 in the MS in Sports Administration program and 3 graduate certificate students.
New Faculty Members
Building upon the already impressive faculty, the School of Business welcomes three new full-time faculty members:

- Maria R. Gonzalez Ramirez, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance
