Strategic Planning and Goal Setting

  • The
    School of Business identified diversity and inclusion goals as central elements
    of its strategic plan and Dean Maxfield has assumed responsibility for managing
    the initiatives related to those goals
  • Student
    groups, such as the student chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals
    (of which Dean Maxfield is adviser) have been purposefully engaged to help
    establish goals, provide information and ideas, and to collaborate on related
    initiatives
  •  PCSB has seen a steady increase in students of
    color over the past decade, to 230

Student Organizations (Fall Semester)

  • PCSB is supporting the creation of a chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), with faculty adviser Sydnee Manley

Business Advisory Council (Fall Semester)

  • The Business Advisory Council Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion held its second
    annual meeting in October. PC’s Chief Diversity Officer Jackie Peterson and
    Theresa Moore, a faculty member who is also the diversity advocate in the PCSB,
    spoke to the group. Subjects included the College’s strategic goals relative to
    diversity and inclusion, recent work, upcoming initiatives, and related
    institutional resources.

Networking and Professional Development (Fall Semester)

  • Some 363 students in the PCSB First-Year Experience program participated in a Franklin Covey two-hour workshop entitled Unconscious Bias: Understanding Bias to Unleash Potential
    • Several members of the PCSB faculty and staff participated in a separate version of that same workshop
  • Faculty member Theresa Moore and Rebecca Reeves of the dean’s office staff attended the AACSB Diversity and Inclusion Summit
