Management Major Courses & Tracks

Business students hold a group meeting in the library.

The management curriculum is closely aligned with the liberal arts objectives of Providence College. Business leaders are increasingly looking for college graduates not only with a background in core management courses, but also with a background in the liberal arts.

The integration of the management major curriculum with Providence College’s strong liberal arts curriculum prepares our students to lead and inspire people, create value by solving business problems, and work with a team to drive change.

Double Majors/Minors

Management majors may choose to double major or minor in a wide variety of liberal arts or business subjects. These courses allow our students to customize and tailor their education to their unique interests. For example, a management major may double major in economics to pursue a career in consulting, or a management student may add a global studies or foreign language minor to prepare for an international business career, a political science major or minor for those hoping to enter public service or law, or a public and community service studies minor to prepare for a management role in a large non-profit.

Management Department Tracks

The Management Department also offers three optional career pathways for students seeking structure for their pursuit of careers in Human Resources, Leadership Development, or Technology Venturing. These pathways provide students with opportunities to take courses that lay the foundation for opportunities in these sectors. Students interested in these pathways can choose any subset of the recommended courses.

Your academic advisor will help guide you in selecting the courses that satisfy core and elective requirements, as well as a track, should you choose to pursue one.
