PCSB students and faculty gathered in the KPMG Auditorium to listen to Dr. Jeffrey H. Harris deliver his keynote address at the 2017 Investment Forecast Forum.

Almost a full year lay ahead of the financial markets, and Providence College School of Business students had the opportunity to discuss with working professionals the anticipated economic risks and financial forecasts for 2017 at last Thursday’s annual Investment Forecast Forum. The forum, co-sponsored by the PCSB, the Providence College Finance Society (PCFS), and the CFA Society Providence, welcomed a panel of four guest speakers and attracted over 100 students and faculty to the Ryan Center for an afternoon of conversation and networking.

This year’s conference featured a keynote presentation from Dr. Jeffrey H. Harris, the Gary Cohn Goldman Sachs Endowed Chair in Finance for the Kogod School of Business at American University. Harris formerly served as Chief Economist at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Following the keynote address, a student-moderated panel discussion and question-and-answer session honed in on the topics of derivatives and risk management, both themes of this year’s forum. Panelists contributing to the discussion included Harris; Matthew Callahan, a practitioner faculty in finance at the PCSB; Michael Corsi ’02, Managing Director – Co-head of Securitized Product Sales at KeyBank; and Michael Donohue ’79, Managing Director – Corporate and Investment Banking at Mizuho.

The afternoon concluded with a networking session in the Palmisano Atrium.
