Teaching Innovation Award
Continuing the work already undertaken in the School of Business, the Business Education Innovation Center (BEIC) invites students each spring to nominate faculty for innovative teaching outcomes (e.g., cases, flipped classrooms, technology implementation, et cetera). From these nominations, the BEIC director chooses up to six finalists for the BEIC Teaching Innovation Award, soliciting recommendations from faculty and alumni to support the student-nominated faculty member’s application. The BEIC director then uses the student survey information and the supporting information to choose two recipients at the end of spring term – one, a tenured member of the faculty and the other, an untenured member of the faculty. Each award constitutes $1,500, grossed-up to cover expected taxes on the award.
