Approximately one third of students in this year’s entering MBA class, some of whom are featured above, are earning their degrees on a part-time basis.

Just this time last year, the Providence College School of Business MBA Program was thrilled to debut at No. 67 in Bloomberg Businessweek’s U.S. Part-Time MBA Rankings for 2015. The strength and appeal of the program continue this year, with part-time students making up a significant portion of the entering class.

Part-time MBA students comprised approximately one third of newly admitted students at orientation. The working professionals who recently joined the Part-Time MBA Program represent companies such as CVS, Santander, Fiat Chrysler, Citizens, Bank of America, Fidelity, Amica, Starbucks, Roger Williams, and even Providence College.

The PCSB’s part-time MBA is an attractive option for working professionals. The management-focused curriculum provides students with experiential learning. Moreover, classes taught by instructors at the top of their academic or professional fields in small classroom settings are conducive to student collaboration and teamwork.

Within the curriculum, students can also select a concentration in Accounting, Finance, International Business, Management, or Marketing to build knowledge in a specific business area. Study abroad opportunities, such as this year’s week-long marketing course, Global Luxury Brands, offered in Milan, Italy over Spring Break, can expand not only students’ global acumen but also their professional network.

Aside from academics, the part-time MBA offers the flexibility needed to accommodate working professionals’ schedules. MBA classes are offered late afternoons and evenings, with some accelerated classes meeting on weekends for a short period of time. By taking one to two classes a semester, part-time students are typically able to earn their degree within two years provided that course prerequisites have been satisfied at the time of enrollment.
