Three PCSB students competed and one took home a trophy at the Mays Business School Wall Street Journal Challenge on Feb. 28.

Jacob Carriere ’15 took first place in the written portion of the challenge, surpassing more than 25 students from Emory, Texas A&M, and UNC, among other competitors.

Carriere and his teammates — Christopher Bunsa ’16 and Patrick Ferguson ’15 — advanced to the semifinals of the oral quizzing competition.

In the five weeks leading up to the challenge, held at Texas A&M, students read The Wall Street Journal daily. The challenge consists of two parts: individual writing quizzes that cover each section of the newspaper in detail, and a fast-paced oral question-and-answer segment that puts teams of three to the test.

Assistant Dean Jacqueline Elcik accompanied the team on the trip and kept the group in high spirits amid numerous travel hiccups.
